Title: Security: An IoT Perspective
Abstract:
Smart applications are employed to enhance human-style life. The Internet of Things (IoT) is recently utilized in designing these environments. Therefore, security and privacy are considered essential parts to deploy and successful smart environments. In addition, most of the protection systems of IoT are vulnerable to various types of attacks. Hence, intrusion detection systems (IDS) have become crucial requirements for any modern system. This security system is heavily based on the internal physical behavior extracted from various IoT devices. The extraction process is considered one of the very tricky issues, but our security system is a great challenge because we have approaches that have to provide a robust system without sending or saving a key.
Biography:
I am a computer scientist working at the Security for Autonomous Systems, Self-driving Vehicles, and Drones. I obtained my M.Sc. in information technology from the University of Al-Bayt University, Mafraq, Jordan 2008 and my Ph.D. in computer science in 2017. I carried out Postdoc & PhD Security Communication Systems for Self-driving Vehicles from Essex University - UK – Colchester at the University of Essex. From October 2018, I was a head of Computer Networking Systems department, college of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, University of Anbar, where I taught in the B.Sc. and M.Sc. CS courses, Anbar – Iraq.

My research interests include security, image processing, bioinformatics and computational technology, Petri nets modelling and simulating, data mining, and fuzzy logic applications to predictive modelling. I have authored over 70 publications including more than 38 journal papers, 35 refereed international conference papers. I am a member of the IEEE computer society.
