Biography:
Prof. Dr. Pavel A. Troshin is the Chair of the Laboratory of Functional Materials for Electronics and Medicine at the Institute for Problems of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FMEM Lab https://twitter.com/fmeml?lang=en)

His current research is focused on the design of organic and hybrid materials for solar energy conversion and electrochemical energy storage, semiconductor materials for flexible and biocompatible electronics, e.g. field-effect transistors, memory devices, chemical sensors, photodetectors, etc. In particular, he contributed to the design of fullerene-based materials for electronic and biomedical applications and to the development of conjugated polymers for advanced organic solar cells. Most recently, his group explored systematically intrinsic stability of perovskite-type complex metal halides used in a new generation of photovoltaic devices, designed efficient and stable all-inorganic perovskite solar cells, reported the first efficient lead-free perovskite-like materials for photovoltaics. In the context of energy storage, the group of Prof. Troshin works on the development of advanced organic cathode and anode materials for metal-ion batteries and synthesis of promising redox couples for redox-flow batteries.

Troshin received the prestigious Zvorykin Award from the President of the Russian Federation in 2008 as the most internationally recognized Russian junior scientist, was awarded Gold (twice) and Silver Medals for Innovative Projects by International Exhibition of Inventions and Innovative Technologies “Archimed” (2014-2016). Troshin co-authored over 270 peer-reviewed journal papers, 3 book chapters, and one monograph.
